Nine months!

Yesterday, October 19th it was our nine months anniversary. I can not believe how fast the time has flown by, it looks it was yesterday our first date. The fact is that, my fiancée and I have been growing together and everyday we feel like we are just part of one another; hence, we can feel the time.

Now, we are still going crazy about this whole wedding things, at least I am. I have faith we will have everything ready by our scheduled date, January  24th. Also, I want to take this opportunity to thank all of my friend that some way or another have helped out in the process. And Ministers Giovanny and Valentinna Castro for the pre-marital classes.

Love you guys!

We all definitely need a break after a busy week; even God decided to separate a day to do nothing, just to show us how to do it. However, for us, busy Americans it is very hard to find those rewarding minutes during the week. Sometimes we pile up those hours hoping we would catch up with our body during the weekend, and at the end we find ourselves in another beautiful Monday morning more tired than ever.

Well, it tends to happened to me too, folks.  I study and work full time and on Sunday I gave all my time to church; and since I study and do assignments on Saturdays also, that leaves me with no time for a break. However, I have been undergoing some strange issues in where I can’t do anything on Saturdays. It’s just a weird impulse that makes me stay lazy all the time; I can't finish anything I start…it happened three weeks ago, then the next week, and today.

Now I am getting used to my lazy Saturdays, fighting against procrastination. It has come about pretty good though. I have manage to do most of the things during the week and sometimes hours before is due.

Let’s see…

Welcome!

After a few tries, I got this BlogEngine.NET system working under my current hosting provider, 1and1. It was not an easy thing to do; for some reasons they only allow default.asp as starting page and ASP.NET starts with Default.aspx. The solution, redirection. I created a default.asp file and put this code in it:

<%EnableSessionState=False
host = Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_HOST")
if host = "janierdavila.com" or host = "www.janierdavila.com" then
response.redirect("http://janierdavila.com/BlogEngine/default.aspx")
end if
%>

 This way I redirect every request made to my domain to my ASP.NET blog. That was not all of it, however. 1and1 kinds of hide a way to "proclame" your application as an ASP.NET one.  We are so used to easily accomplish this on IIS...with 1and1 you have to click on webfile and then under file menu select Application Settings.

Despite the fact of the trick I had to do, I had a pretty good overall installation process. The remaining steps were to customize it to my needs, work that I enjoyed very much. Let me know if you like my banner, I have never been such a good designer :(.

And there you have it, my first post!
